MISSIONS

SPRING 2022

The Spring of 2022 was OHMM's inaugural mission to Comayagua. With 3 OR teams and one week, our team was able to perform 133 surgeries. We were the first major surgery team to return after COVID had shut the world down for nearly two years. The need was great, but so was our ability to make an impact.

SPRING 2023

This was our second mission to SBJ hospital and it was a fantastic trip. Our team was able to do 129 General, GYN and Orthopedic surgeries. Our team was comprised of 4 ORs and 29 people total. We were able to touch lives and have a lasting impact on others as well as ourselves.

SPRING 2024

In our third trip to Comayagua our team successfully completed 102 surgeries. Many of these surgeries included multiple procedures which put our procedure completion closer to 150. We were able to perform general and gynecological procedures throughout the week. In addition to the surgeries performed, our team was able to distribute 50 solar bibles to patients with an emphasis on those who cannot read or write.

SPRING 2025

Every year feels like our best year yet and our fourth trip was no exception. We completed 98 surgeries this year and for the first time were able to provide urologic procedures. We also were able to care for and treat our first patient with Malignant Hyperthermia! The Lord placed an amazing team with us this year and we could not be more grateful. We distributed a solar powered audio bible to every patient and we again were able to visit both the boys and girls orphanages and distribute toys, candy, and needed supplies.

SUMMER 2025
This trip was a bit different—we didn’t perform any surgeries. OHMM partnered with SBJ to join their team in providing medical care in several mountain communities. It was an incredible opportunity to reach people who had never received care before. A small team consisting of a general surgeon, a nurse practitioner, and two RNs ventured into the mountains with the SBJ team to run clinics over three full days. During that time, the medical team saw and treated 293 patients. Many of them had never had access to care—or the means to afford it. We are so excited to be able to expand our mission in this way and look forward to more brigades into the mountains in the future.
